Girls weekend in West Virginia

Friday August 26 - The three HOLT girls along with Andrea left Wayne County enroute for Grafton West Virginia to visit relatives. The highlight of the day was shopping at Wal-Mart for hair coloring for Becky as Nancy has agreed to color her hair.
Saturday August 27 - After breakfast at Jerry's Cafe we went to the nursing home to visit Aunt Blanche. She will be 93 in January and still has a sense of humor. In the afternoon we stopped by to visit with James and Rosalie Kerns. We then set out for Lost Run Road in Pruntytown to drive where Grandma Holt had lived. We decided to have dinner at Valley Falls Lodge, however, the small dining room was reserved for a wedding party. After dinner at Four Corners restaurant we retreated to the hotel room so Nancy could practice being a beautician. Fortunate for Nancy... Becky's hair did not turn green or fall out so she has not been ex-communicated from the family.
Sunday August 28 - We had breakfast then went to the nursing home again to say our farewells to Aunt Blanche. We returned back in Ohio around 6:00pm.

Got Crabs?

Keith does... That's right, on Saturday Keith caught crabs. Believe it or not, when Keith told Natasha he had caught crabs, she wasn't too upset. In fact, she even helped Keith pick them. Nothing beats a day on the Chesapeake Bay and a bushel of Maryland blue crabs!

Cheap Labor!

As some of you know, Charles got over 20 ton of dirt delivered to the house. Looks like he found some cheap labor to help him get it spread.

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

Jackson started school today - 1st Grade! He seemed a bit nervous

Afterschool, he gave the day a BIG thumbs up! He had gym, lunch, 2 recesses and squeezed in some ABC's and 123's! Tomorrow is Art and Pizza for lunch. It seems like he's already a pro at 1st grade! Way to go, Jackson!

Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy

On Saturday, Natasha and Keith went to go see their favorite country music duo ~ Big and Rich (www.bigandrich.com), singers of the country music smash hit Save a Horse Ride a Cowboy. They had great seats, just 11-rows back from the stage.

With their cowboy boots and hats on, they were dancing in the isle and yelling at the top of their lungs.

Oh yeah, Brooks and Dunn were there too.

Happy Birthday Ammey!

...and her brother sent her a very nice birthday card. However, as tradition would have it he didn't get the card in the mail in time (having just addressed the envelope the mail man will pick it up tomorrow). Don't feel bad though Aim ~ his girlfriend had to remind him of his Fathers birthday, he nearly forgot his Mother's birthday and I believe last year he completely forgot your birthday. So hey, at least he did a little better this year!

LOVE BIRDS!

Keith & Natasha lounging around during a recent visit to Ohio. Right now they're in Myrtle Beach, visiting Natasha's family. There's been a report that the local Calabash is out of Crab Legs after Keith ate there, and apparently the local CVS is making money re-selling new rolls of film that he drops off for developing!

Jackson Visits His Cousins

Jackson left on Sunday, August 7th with Uncle Todd, Aunt Jo and his cousins. He's spent the week with them in Cincinnati. He's been having a blast, swimming and visiting! We're headed down tonight to go to King's Island with him. We've all missed Jackson very much!

Owen negotiates with his Mommy

Earlier in the evening Owen wasn't listening to his mommy and she told him he wasn't going to get a snack if he didn't listen.

So when he came in tonight he had something behind his back and he said "Mommy, I'll pay you a dollar if you let me have some of this chocolate bar for snack...." she just laughed and told him to get his pj's on. Then he did and said, "I'll give you another dollar if you give me marshmallows and pretzels, too!"

Guess who is eating a snack (free of charge, of course)
