Big wheels rolling

49 days until race day for the Danskin Triathlon in Denver, CO. With that said, Linda and Nancy rode the Holmes County bike trail from Millersburg to Holmesville on Saturday, 12 miles. We need to kick our training into high gear, so on Sunday at 7:00am, Ammey, Linda and Nancy met in Fredericksburg and rode to Millersburg. We logged 22 miles for this trip.......and YES......our butts are hurting! On Monday, the three girls are meeting in Wooster for a run/fast walk.

I beg Your Pardon........

I never promised you a rose garden. However, Charlie did plant a tulip garden in the backyard with the help of the neighbor ladies. In August of last year when Charlie had 30 tons of topsoil dumped on the backyard, Nancy ask for a mound of dirt for a flower garden. Charlie kept asking Nancy to make a decision on the plants for the bed, and she would never commit. So, with the help of the local garden club ladies the bed was planted with tulips, spring bulbs and perennials. NOTE: Nancy did not know about this. Early in the Spring I noticed something was growing in the flower bed. I did not say anything until the tulips and spring flowers were in full bloom. The day I first went out to take a closer look at the flowers, both neighbor ladies came out to see if I approved of the help they had given. I love the flowers Charlie, Thank you.

Farewell!

Tonight we closed and locked the door at 2545 Monterey St. with the keys inside. We said one last farewell to each room and I shot some video as the kids danced in their rooms. All seemed ok...until we went outside and Owen broke down in tears, I followed and then Jackson! Michael held us all together by telling funny stories of things that happened during our almost 8 years in this home. The boys began to laugh. We closed the garage door and Michael met me at the front door to lock it behind me. The boys got into the truck together and as we got near the truck we heard them both crying again! Jackson had asked Owen what his favorite part of the house was and that made him cry; again! By the time we made it back to our "Summer" Condo, the boys were in good spirits and Owen said, "I think I'll like it here." I asked him not to get too attached because we were moving on to something better soon! They took a jacuzzi bath together before bed and snuggled in! It's now just after Midnight and I think after I unpack a couple more boxes, I too will go snuggle in for the night.
