Relay for Life

Natasha and Keith attended Relay for Life in Christiansburg, VA on Friday night. This was their first experience, but will become a tradition for them, as it was an unforgettable one! Relay for Life is about supporting cancer survivors, remembering the ones that were lost to the terrible disease, and meeting with others to share success stories while raising money for research. Natasha is working in the field of oncology now, unfortunately she has seen more sad days than happy ones recently. The glimmer of "Hope" is always in the back of her mind for all of her new, old, and future patients. If you haven't supported Relay for Life, you really should think about joining in the fight.

Mother's Day 2008

Ammey, Michael, Keith and Natasha honored Nancy with Mother's Day gifts. The flowers arrived on Friday May 9th from Keith and Natasha and as you can see, they still look beautiful after a week. The Welcome stone with the frog was from Ammey and Michael, it will look beautiful in one of my flower beds.

I want to Thank all of you for the cards and gifts. You are the BEST!!!!

THE GOODYEAR BLIMP

If you had not yet heard, Keith has taken a new job as airport manager of the New River Valley Airport. During his first official week on the job, he had to find a place to park the Goodyear blimp, safely organize 4,200 schools kids to tour the blimp, make arrangements for the 6,000+ members of the public that came out to visit the blimp, all the while trying to maintain his own sanity. Well, in the end it was a successful event. Papa Holt came out to help as a volunteer and he quickly became the talk of the airport. After meeting several new friends, and helping to re-elect one town council member (and member of the airport commission) he has cemented a permanent invite to become an airport bum any time he wants! Keith and Natasha were able to secure a ride in the blimp. For sure a once in a lifetime (or first week on the new job) event.
