In 1945 Louise Morrison Holt and her Mother Rebecca Cutright Morrison moved to Smithville from Akron. They rented the house that sat on the corner of Rt 5 and Five Points Rd. In 1946 she purchased the entire property so when her husband and brothers returned from the war they would have property to build their homes on. The property was divided in 3 parcels. Louise's brother Willie lived the old house with their mother, Her brother Walter built on the parcel facing old Rt 5. Charles and Louise built on the parcel facing Five Points Rd.
May 17, 1952 Charles and Louise started building their home. On June 6, 1962 they added a 2 car garage and a dining room. November 2001 concrete was poured for the garage approach and a new side porch. On May 15, 2015 Louise had Oswalt Builders add a new front porch and a new living room window.
Charles Holt Sr, passed away May 2010. Louise continued to live in the house until July 2016 when her health would not permit her to live alone and she now resides at Wayne County Care Center.
April 2018, 7300 Five Points Rd was sold to Olivia Weeman.
The Holt's have many years of memories at this house. Now, it is time for new beginnings and new memories to be created.
