Farewell to Ole' Blue
September 29 - Yes, it is true, Charlie has sold his old blue pickup truck. The truck with over 250K miles and more rust than paint showing. The truck that Keith left his mark on the bed while it was in ND. The truck that left Jackson and Charlie stranded along Rt. 70 with a U-Haul enroute to Keith's new home. Persistence paid off for the young man that kept coming back wanting to buy the old truck. Charlie had 'OLE BLUE' loaded with brush to dump at the farm on Tuesday. On his way to the farm the brakes went out so he turned around and brought 'OLE BLUE' home. Upon inspection he determined the truck needed back brake lines. That night the guy stopped back and said he would pay the price Charlie was asking, even after he knew about the brakes. Charlie fixed the brakes the next day, drove the truck to the farm to unload the brush then cleaned all his 'treasures' out of the truck.

An Evening of Soccer!

Owen had his last night of Soccer "camp" tonight! The 4-day camp for 4 & 5 year-olds taught fundamentals of Soccer and they played mini games. He even scored a goal one of the nights. Pictured below, for some reason there are 4 "yellow" team members looking at the ball - you get a lot of that at 4 & 5 year-old soccer camp!

The Great Frederick Fair

It was a busy weekend for Natasha and Keith. Keith tackled some home improvement projects, managed to buy a birthday present for Natasha's birthday next month (don't tell her but she is getting a set of skis) and they caught three concerts at the Great Frederick Fair. The first concert was the 2001 CMA Vocal Group of the Year ~ Lonestar. The second concert featured up-and-comer Jamie O'Neal who sings the song "Somebody's Hero." Jamie even brought to Frederick and up to the stage her 2-year old daughter for a cameo performance. Jamie O'Neal was followed on stage by the legendary Charlie Daniels, who despite being up there in age and weight can still bring one heck of a performance. For Charlie's last song of the night "When the Devil Went Down to Georgia" you could see smoke coming off his fiddle he was playing it so hard.

Keep Moving
September 15th - Today is Grandma Jordan's 78th birthday. This evening Ammey brought the boys over while she bowled. Once again Nancy took the boys for a walk. Last weekend while the boys was with us, they walked over FIVE MILES with Nancy. We walked to The Barn Restaurant, on Saturday night we ate dinner, fed the fish, played on the swings and had an ice cream treat from the Oak Cupboard. Tonight we walked to Dari-Land for an ice cream treat, played at the middle school park and the Smithville Park. As with all our other walks, the boys carefully chose some rocks to toss in the creek from the bridge. The boys are real hikers when walking, I really enjoy having them along. This week so far Nancy has logged 14 miles. She hopes to beat last week when she logged 21 1/2 miles in 6 days.

BALLOONING
September 5 - Nancy was invited to fly in the hot air balloon with Shannon Rote. We launched from Smithville Park and after floating thru the air for 6 miles we landed safely. We passed to the North of Smithville Airport and Shannon took us to an altitude of 4,000ft. - that was a first for me.

September 10 - Pink Skies Over Ohio
This is an annual event with women hot air balloon pilots participate in a morning flight. This year they flew from Lake Milton located in North Eastern Ohio near Alliance. The picture on the right is what happens when a male tries to crash the event.

Trip to The Catoctin Zoo

Keith and Natasha went to The Catoctin Zoo (http://www.cwpzoo.com/) on Saturday. Boy, was it an adventure!! They were mesmerized by watching monkeys do "monkey business", which was not PG-13!! After the monkey show, they saw alligators and a 7-ft. bear born in The Ohio Zoo named "Griz". Natasha being the animal lover that she is wanted to feed the deer, but Keith just wanted to come back in late November in the middle of the night dressed in his camo to bring home dinner.
