Deer Season Is Over

The 2006/2007 deer hunting season is over. This year, Keith was able to sucsessfully take his first, second, and third deer ever in his life.

The first deer (a doe) was harested on the farm in Ohio. He needed the help of his father to drag it out of the woods.

After getting the first deer under his belt, he figured he had this hunting stuff figured out. However, his second and third deer's wound up being "special-ed" deer (a messed up spike and a messed up 4-point) taken on a hunting trip to Alabama with Natasha's father and brother. It should be noted that in true southern style, the second deer was taken from a true redneck tree stand - the sleeper cab from a wrecked semi truck that was sitting up on blocks!

For those of you that don't know. A picture of Natasha's brother (Keith' future brother-in-law), Forrest, shows below what a real deer should look like. He ended up taking the largest deer of the Alabama hunt.

I guess, after providing meat for his family that is now in the freezer, and seeing Forrest's "award winng" deer, Keith now has something to strive for. Maybe next year....

  • Keith, (3) deer in 5 weeks is something to be very proud of. Two of your deer had HORNS....despite their oddities. Sounds like the truck cab on blocks is a great idea. I will start looking for one to put at the farm. WAY TO GO!!! Congratulations on your successful season.
